Medicare is no different than Medicaid. Your payroll taxes pay for Medicare, and your income taxes pay for Medicaid. Tax is tax is tax. Medicare and Social Security started going bankrupt almost immediately, so they were moved under the general fund so that general funds could be used, because the taxes used for these program specifically were unable to fund them. Now they’re turning it into a means tested actual welfare program. It was bound to happen. And we’ve been screaming about it for years. You ought to be able to opt out of paying it and retire on your own wit. I’m tired of the socialism. Socialism sucks.
