"I’m not waiting, and I’m not voting for $5 trillion in debt to see if they keep their promises." - Sen. Rand Paul.
On Fox Business Rand Paul claimed that Trump's "Big Beautiful Bill" will actually increase the federal deficit. He says, "it’s complicated because it’s $1.5 trillion—that sounds like an enormous number, but it’s over ten years, and $150 billion a year. They are also increasing spending for the military and the border by $300 billion. That’s actually more than all of those cuts that we found so far."
People are also criticizing Elon Musk for his comment on the Bill, calling it a "disgusting abomination." The media claims he's only upset because the bills includes getting rid of the electric vehicle mandates and "Green New Scam" tax credits.
Elon Musk is a businessman, but I believe him and Rand Paul are right. It is going to 'cut spending,' but it's over 10 years [enough time for the government to increase spending 10x what they're cutting], and in the meantime spending is going to increase in many different areas. The deficit will keep increasing until we stop spending more then we are taking from the taxpayers. This bill absolutely spends more than it cuts. If the republicans wanted to spin this into something useful, they would:
(1) Cut more,
(2) Implement those cuts now,
(2) Make it permanent.
